When is the Touro College of Pharmacy Class of 2013 Commencement Ceremony?

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2013.

Where will the Touro College of Pharmacy Class of 2013 Commencement Ceremony take place?

The ceremony will take place at the New York Academy of Medicine,  1216 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10029

What time do Graduates need to be at the New York Academy of Medicine?

The Graduates should arrive at NYAM at 11 a.m.

What time does the Graduation Ceremony start?

The ceremony begins promptly at 2 p.m.

How long does the Commencement Ceremony last?

The ceremony is approximately 2 hours in duration.

When is Commencement practice? Am I required to attend?

Commencement practice will be held at 11 a.m. on the day of the ceremony (5/23/2013) and is mandatory.

Will there be a graduation banquet?

Yes, the banquet will be held at the Alhambra Ballroom (2116 Adam Clayton Powell Junior Boulevard, New York, NY 10027) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

How many people can come to the banquet?

Each student will receive 2 tickers for themselves and (1) guest. There will be a sale of additional tickets in the upcoming weeks and you will hear from Ms. Mary Clarke with the pricing.

What time does my family and guests need to arrive?

The doors will open at 1:00 p.m. The seating for the ticketed guests will be at their choosing and on a “first come first serve” basis.

Can I videotape the Ceremony?

No, due to fire safety policies we cannot have people standing in the aisles trying to get a clear shot. We have hired a videographer and will give each student a copy of the ceremony.

Will there be a place where graduates can store valuables during the ceremony?

Yes, in the dressing area.

Do children need tickets to attend the ceremony?

Children need tickets only if they require their own seat.

How many tickets can I get?

You are allotted 5 tickets per graduate for the Hosack Hall (The main hall). There will also be an overflow room (Presidents Gallery) where there will be an Audio and Visual feed of the ceremony. Submit your ticket requests to Ms. Shana Young  by March 5, 2013.

When and where can I pick up my tickets?

Tickets for both the banquet and the ceremony will be given out on Senior Day (April 5, 2013). You must be present to sign for your tickets or email Ms. Shana Young prior to the pickup date with the name of the person you are authorizing to pick up your tickets and sign for them.

What is Senior Day?

Senior Day is April 5, 2013. On this day, Touro College of Pharmacy administration will go over the commencement application process and the licensure application process. You will be able to pick up your commencement and banquet tickets, official invitation. You will also be able to place the order for your regalia. There will also be a financial workshop about life post-graduation and the management of loan repayment.

Where do I get my Tam and Gown?

We will be using Oak Hall as the supplier. The last day to order regalia is May 10, 2013.

How much is the Tam and Gown?

$35.45

After the ceremony am I considered a graduate?

No, according to Touro College policy you are considered to be in “Candidate for Graduation” status until the institution graduation date of June 1.

Will there be Graduate photos?

There will be photos taken.

Do I HAVE to apply for graduation?

YES!!! Upon completion of the application the form should be sent to Ms. Young where there will then be an audit to ensure that all courses have been completed.
