New and continuing students have to apply for financial aid every year. Luckily, we make it simple.

Remember: you must be registered before we can process aid.

Apply for Aid in 8 Steps

Step 1: File your Federal Income Tax Return
Complete your 2013 federal income tax return. Include your spouse’s information, if you are married and did not file jointly.

Step 2: Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Apply for a PIN at This will allow you to sign your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) electronically. If you already have a PIN, you do not need to re-apply for another.

Step 3: Complete a FAFSA on or after January 1st

Visit to submit your FAFSA online.

Step 4: Review the COST OF ATTENDANCE (COA)

The maximum amount of aid applied for in a year cannot exceed the COA for that year.

Step 5: Take the Entrance Counseling

First time borrowers must take the Entrance Test, an online tutorial that details students’ rights and responsibilities as loan borrowers. Log in with your PIN at to take the test.

Step 6: Sign Electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN)

First time borrowers taking out a Direct Unsubsidized Loan must visit to sign an eMPN. Direct Grad PLUS Loans require a separate eMPN.

Step 7: Private/Alternative Loan

Notify the Financial Aid Office of any private or alternative loans you apply for so that we can accept the loans.

Step 8: You will receive your final financial aid instructions through your Touro College email. Please monitor your Touro email account daily.

In reviewing your application, we may request additional documentation.
Loan funds are disbursed directly to the College to cover the cost of tuition. The Bursar’s Office distributes refunds within 14 days of receiving the funds.
